REAR FOG/REVERSING LIGHTS

Pretty obvious these. Nothing particularly difficult but I did find that a lot of grinding was needed to make the lights fit the holes properly. For starters, they were far too tight and more importantly they were not straight with the bumper line. Nothing worse than seeing lights out of line on cars because it's one of the first things that you notice.

The first thing to do is drill a hole for the wiring to go through. Then you can concentrate on making the light slide in properly. One you get the light far enough in for the 2 studs to touch the back face you can take it out and see where the studs have marked the fibreglass so you know where to drill. Once thats in it's just a case of working away with the Dremmel until a nice fit is there. I actually broke through the skin on several places near the back edges of the hole. It's no problem as theres plenty of strength left to hold the light in, which will be bonded once the bumper has been painted.

When both the lights fit OK, drill a hole under each of the bumper mountings. This will be the hole that the wiring for the lights comes through. You might ask how the hell you are supposed to feed the loom through this hole bearing in mind you can't get to it at all once the lights in. Well, the trick is to tape the end of the loom to an opened wire coathanger. Then, you can poke around with the coathanger until you can see the end near the hole. If you grab the end with something you can pull it through the hole, with the loom still attached to it. Once you've got hold of the end of the loom you can pull the coathanger back out. Voila!
