FRONT BUMPER
![]()
I pre-fitted my fog and sidelights before pre-fitting the bumper but you can do either job first. First off, make sure that the front of the body is secured to the front boot where you want it to be before trying to fit the bumper. Once thats done, offer up the bumper and chock it in place and have a good look around it. Once you're happy it't in the right place use a G clamp to hold one edge and drill two 8mm holes up through the bumper and the body together. Secure using 8mm nuts and bolts, with BIG washers either side to spread the load. Do the same on the other side. Note that the hole in the body in the picture below is for the side repeaters.

You will also need to secure the front edge of the bumper somehow but I haven't done that yet so I'll post it when it's done.....
UPDATE 15/12/02: OK, I got the nearside fitted and lining up nicely as pictured above but when I came to do the offside it was clear that the bumper was miles out. The main problem was that the bumper was too wide but not only that it wouldn't sit high enough as the centre of the front boot area was pushing it down. Theres no way I am going to attempt this so I will mark it as another job for the bodyshop to do. It wouldn't surprise me if they actually have to cut and shut the bumper. Bugger.
