One thing I feel I must mention here, and is the only real problem I found with Parallel, is that the REAL build cost will be significantly higher than the £17,333 I arrived to when adding up all the parts listed on Parallel's website. Even allowing £4500 (2K paint, 1.5K engine & gearbox, 1K trimming) that comes to £21,833 but in my opinion theres no way you will be able to build what I would call a decent replica for less than 25K unless you get an extremely good deal on painting, trimming and engine/gearbox supply so be warned.
Unfortunately it's not even as if you can pull much of it off a donor car. The problem, as you will see below, is that theres a lot of parts that are not listed on Parallel's website (as at January 2002), although theres no way you can get away without having them. In Parallels defence not only were they a relatively new company at the time and their website wasn't fully finished, but theres a few items you might be able to 'bodge' yourself like the wiper assembly, door locks, second-hand suspension/braking or even save money on the wheel/tyre combo but you end up detracting from the authenticity and at the end of the day this isn't really an option in my opinion.
All prices include VAT where applicable. Note that at the time I purchased all of the kit parts from Parallel, they were not VAT registered, although they stated that they may be in the near future so check this over with them if you are planning a build as obviously it could make a significant difference to the build cost.
